Independent device insurance comparison, built for South Africa

MobileInsurance.co.za helps South Africans compare cover for phones, laptops, tablets and wearables — with local pricing, plain-language guides and no insurer owning the results.

How we earn your trust

Experience

We have handled thousands of South African device quote requests across phones, laptops, tablets and wearables, so our premium ranges reflect what people actually pay locally — not overseas benchmarks.

Independence

We are not owned by an insurer. Comparison results are ranked on cover, excess and price, and referral fees never buy placement or a better position.

Accuracy

Every guide is sourced from insurer policy wording, product schedules and published claim processes, then re-reviewed on a fixed schedule so figures and exclusions stay current.

Accountability

Quotes shown are indicative and subject to underwriting. We say so clearly, we publish our contact details, and a real person answers when you call or WhatsApp us.

Our editorial and pricing methodology

Premium ranges quoted across the site are built from live South African insurer schedules for comparable device values, excess levels and cover types. Where insurers price by replacement value, we model a representative device in that band rather than quoting a single headline number.

Guides are researched from primary sources — policy wording, product summaries and published claim requirements — and each one names the exclusions that most often cause declined claims in South Africa, such as unattended-vehicle theft, lost-not-stolen devices and out-of-warranty water damage.

Every guide carries a published and last-reviewed date. When insurer pricing or terms move materially, we update the guide and its date rather than leaving stale figures in place.

About us — frequently asked questions

Is MobileInsurance.co.za an insurer?
No. We are an independent comparison and lead-referral service. Policies are underwritten and issued by licensed South African insurers and their authorised administrators.
How do you make money?
Insurers and brokers pay us a referral fee when a quote request we send them converts into a policy. You never pay more for using the comparison, and fees do not change the order in which we present cover options.
Who writes your guides?
Our in-house editorial team researches South African policy schedules, premium ranges and claim processes directly from insurer documentation, and reviews every guide at least twice a year.
How do you protect my personal information?
We process personal information under the POPI Act, share it only with the insurers needed to quote you, and keep it for as long as required to service your enquiry. See our privacy policy for the full detail.
